perfect picture In your silent appearance Where your beauty billows with exuberance.. Your hair dance to the command of breeze Delicate enough to make a tease Your eyes dangle with firmness Matching your confidence and prowess Beyond words and flattering, You're a mysterious reverie On your gracious noble face Where courage is worn like a mask... You're charming and revered Your beauty is naturally reserved On the portrait of your look, your angelic brows are perfectly cute You're a medicine for the heart A Sophisticated greater art Just like the morning sun Your skin glitters with calmness. Beyond art and a mere fiction You're captured in a perfect picture. *Olawale Abdulsalam*

Until you learn to speak your mind or opinion without being apologetic, you will remain the same.

LOG IN SIGN UP WELL-BEING WISDOM WONDER PURPOSE SPECIAL SECTIONS  COMMUNITY CORPORATE OFFERINGS  ABOUT THRIVE  WISDOM Say What You Think And Don’t Be Apologetic About It Be confident in your opinions. by   Darius Foroux       Have you ever stated your opinion only to be shot down by someone else? Maybe by your spouse, boss, parents, or best friend? Or even a stranger? It happened to me many times in the past. Growing up, I always had an opinion about everything. Having an opinion doesn’t mean you know everything. It just means you have something to say. You could be wrong. But often times, my teachers, friends, girlfriends, co-workers, and even friends would immediately say things like, “That’s not true!” So gradually, I gave up speaking my mind. I became afraid. Last week,  I published an article about why I avoid toxic people.  I mentioned that I think less than 1% of the population has...

Harsh untrue opinion from Dee Lee

*DON'T BLAME LIBYA, BLACKS WILL ALWAYS BE SLAVES* For those of us who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was reading this morning on a New York radio station. For those who didn't hear it here is the full detail:                                    Dee Lee, CFP Harvard Financial Educators  THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS. Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, "The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book." We now live in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Bar...

Knowledge and wealth

*ON KNOWLEDGE* A learned and well known philosopher once replied to a group of ten learned men who said, *'We seek your permission for our asking a question from you.'* The philosopher replied, 'You are at perfect liberty.' They said, *'Of knowledge and wealth, which is better and why?*. Please give a separate answer to each. The learned philosopher answered in ten parts: 1. Knowledge is the legacy of the Prophets; wealth is the inheritance of the Pharaohs. Therefore, knowledge is better than wealth. 2. You are to guard your wealth but knowledge guards you. Therefore, knowledge is better. 3. A man of wealth has many enemies, while a man of knowledge has many friends. Hence, knowledge is better. 4. Knowledge is better because it increases with distribution, while wealth decreases by that act. 5. Knowledge is better because a learned man is apt to be generous while a wealthy person is apt to be miserly. 6. Knowledge is better because it cannot be s...

Legacy

Image
I am convinced about what legacy means aftern watching Oprah Winfrey talked about it.  Sometimes in life, we will walk and toil searching for fortune around but, eventually we will realized that, our effort is not enough to give us treasure. If you could recall the route to your pursuit, you must have done something worthwhile to engraved in your memory bank. Your legacy is practically the number of lives you touch. It is not the number of cars you acquired, it is not by your pile of academic degrees, it is not by the number of houses you built, it is not even, the number of years you lived. It can only be measured by the number of lives you touched.  Touch a life today. Make somebody smile today. Give a hand to somebody today. Invest in the favour bank and build a legacy.

The path

The road to success is full of punctures, however hard it is, walk it and pluck your fortune from the tree of success. The path is uncertain, the next step is clear. Trust God.

Love at first Sight

At first sight, By the power of your smile I was lost in the air Flying without wings At second sight By the beauty of your tone I Unconsciously melted away Like an ice in the sun At the parade ground, Your elegance speaks uniquely You are calm but your beauty is unquiet It catches enough attention to make bow By the sweetness of your name Couple with your Fascinating spectacle I lost my heart while appreciating you How lovely you look to me How fascinating is it to  exist in fantasy How hopeful is it to taste your lips In the morning, When the sun rises in mild The ember of your thoughts shines with kind Painting my heart with joyful wand At night, In the nocturnal breeze of hope I spread my heart towards your love Surrendering my love into your care. The call to bar scene of Amasa Firdaus

Akeem Babatunde Dauda ON HIJAB, LAW SCHOOL & CALL TO BAR. “Meanwhile sources at the ICC stated that before the ceremonies were to begin, all Muslims were respectfully asked to remove their hijabs prior to entering the hall. This request was complied with by all the Muslims present except Amasa Firdaus who vehemently refused to remove hers. In the process of her protests and despite entreaties made to her by other Muslims she was denied entry into the hall by the Body of Benchers. During the ceremony, a Respected former Chief Justice of Nigeria also met with Amasa Firdaus to convince her to remove her hijab but she did not heed the pleadings as she reiterated that even at gun point she would never remove her Hijab...” (Culled from a Nigerian Law Blog site) Dear Amasa Firdaus, I want to address you. Please allow me share a brief story with you so that you may be inspired and remain resolute. In 2015, my wife, a Soldier with the US Army, was told at the Army Annual Training at Fo...

Education, an economic improving factor

If I would believe the saying that education is good for everybody to make a living, it has to be unambiguous by applying brevity. That is, it would not be formal education in the whole sense. We have had enough of this issue trending in our society as a result of the immense clamouring for education as a sole factor for success. It will be good to check on the other hand the hindrance the so called schooling without skill has caused in our county's economy.      It is of no doubt that considerable percentage of Nigeria youth are educated ranging from secondary school certificate examination holders or its equivalent, National diploma holders or its equivalent and Bsc. Holders without technical skill, conceptual skill and/or any act of practicality in terms of creativity and invention. With our current crying economy situation, our attention is called to the act of advertising and orientating people to imbibe in the act of entrepreneurship that will ...
Do we have to back off from what is right because it is hard? Do we have to deviate from our heart desire because it appears infeasible. What  do we need to do when we are in the state of confusion. I need to recollect how we are raised. Oh! I can only recall how I was raised. Why should we believe others definition about us? For the positive ones, we can work on them and for the otherwise, we shall ignore them

MARRIED WITHOUT A JOB

MARRIED WITHOUT A JOB I am an advocate for starting small if small is what one is. The idea of waiting forever to achieve excess wealth before doing the important things in life does not guarantee the success of it, it does not even guarantee the wealth. The only thing it guarantees is lost time. That's you waking up one day and realizing your 50th birthday is in a few days but you are still waiting for the big break before settling down. Having said that, it is not enough to start out without the basic ability to cater for the family created, at least that should be the mindset. Unfortunately, life doesn't always follow our plans. You can plan all you want but when life throws challenges at you, a seemingly foolproof plan starts to look like an irresponsible one. People? those ones don't care how good you planned it, what they see is what they judge. "Your guy no go work today?" and then they snigger right in your face or even ask you "bros you dey leave...
Imagination is far beyond hallucination in our nation mention but a few corruption and no correction. Meditation is a  medication and manipulation of creative thinking but we are not ringing and pinging to the call and chat of nature. There are punctures with no posture in our intentions that is in detention and no retention of information. We have ability with no suitability and less eligibility. Creativity without clarity and continuity. Youth got no edge though we have head and legs but have no pledge. The future is crying as the hope has faded away before its arrival. The country is too feeble, our leaders has fumbled and tumbled because they stumbled  and they are crumpled. Our country need help, we need rep

wedding ceremony

I must confess, I laughed when I saw that Maria Shriver has come out with a book called, “Ten Things I Wish I Had Known Before Going Into The Real World.” The real world? Come on, she grew up a Kennedy and married the biggest action movie star of all time! That aside, it got me to thinking: What are ten things I wish I would have known before going out into the real world? So, here they are… Life isn’t fair. You know, your mother always told you this but as kids we never believe it. We think that somehow mom was two tacos short of a combo plate and that eventually we will go into the real world and show her how those who work hard and do right always do come out on top. Then after about five years we become disenchanted and start to smell the coffee. Life isn’t fair! Why didn’t anybody tell me that? I guess they did, didn’t they? Unfortunately, sometimes the bad guys wins. Sometimes people die early. We shouldn’t take this lightly, but we must be realists. While we accept what comes o...

Nelson Mandela, the revered South African anti-apartheid icon who spent 27 years in prison, led his country to democracy and became its first black president, died Thursday at home. He was 95. In his jailhouse memoirs, Mandela wrote that even after spending so many years in a Spartan cell on Robben Island – with one visitor a year and one letter every six months – he still had faith in human nature. “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion,” he wrote in “Long Walk to Freedom.” “People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” Condolences to his family, friends, and countrymen. The world has lost a great human being. RIP Mr.Mandela, sleep well, you earned it. - Pothiq Nelson Mandela, the revered South African anti-apartheid icon who spent 27 years in prison, led his country to democracy and became its f...

ASUU: FG rejects intervention by Shagari, Obasanjo, others October 29, 2013 by Kamarudeen Ogundele 19 Comments Shagari and Obasanjo The Federal Government has rejected the suggestion to involve past Presidents/Heads of States, governors and traditional rulers in its current face-off with the Academic Staff Union of Universities. National President of Nigerian Union of Teachers, Michael Olukoya, had after a palliative meeting with the Minister of Education, Nyeson Wike; and the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu, in Abuja offered the suggestion. The suggestion came to the heels of recent treats by the NUT to embark on sympathy strike with ASUU, if government failed to resolve the crisis. Although Wike told journalists that the advice would be looked into but investigations by our correspondent revealed that the government’s team had not considered heeding the advice almost four weeks after it was given. Our correspondent also learnt on Monday th...
