Nelson Mandela, the revered South African anti-apartheid icon who spent 27 years in prison, led his country to democracy and became its first black president, died Thursday at home. He was 95. In his jailhouse memoirs, Mandela wrote that even after spending so many years in a Spartan cell on Robben Island – with one visitor a year and one letter every six months – he still had faith in human nature. “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion,” he wrote in “Long Walk to Freedom.” “People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” Condolences to his family, friends, and countrymen. The world has lost a great human being. RIP Mr.Mandela, sleep well, you earned it. - Pothiq Nelson Mandela, the revered South African anti-apartheid icon who spent 27 years in prison, led his country to democracy and became its f...

Mastercard           Friday, October 18, 2013 Say what, BBC? Lol. BBC World News insults Nigeria on twitter Sorry about the Lol, it's not funny I know but I just couldn't resist. The 'unfinished capital' cracked me up. So BBC says Abuja was built on stolen land, stolen from who? Continue to read the pic's accompanying article Written by By Alex Preston for BBC News When one of Nigeria's long line of military rulers, General Olusegun Obasanjo, seized the land on which Abuja was to be built in the late 1970s, he could hardly have imagined that the city would remain unfinished 35 years on. Abuja has a makeshift, haphazard feel to it: A place of bureaucrats and building sites, its streets eerily empty after the bu...
