My Africa

What path do we tread? What lesson do we learned? What pleasure do we gain? From the death of our brothers, People we walk in the dark together. If not for ignorance, And insensitive belligerence, Why should I spill a blood? Of my siblings because of envy. We used to be friends Through the hard times. Let's write a history With love and peace, The heroism of the past Displayed to build today. Let's walk on the path Laid by our fathers For a black is sane To rule and lead his folk Shall we fight our contempt, Prac tice love in hope, Whether in South or west, Shall we understand we're one. Let's tread gently To the mountain built With sweat and pain Of men with brains. Africa is one Irrespective of  tongues, Our color might differs but collectively we're blacks. Let's uphold our pride In the unity built with trust Our fathers suffered a great deal For us to survive today. Let's open our arm To embrace...
